Hydraulic Service Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Service Engineer to strengthen our team. This role is field-based, working onsite with customers to deliver planned maintenance, shutdown support, asset management, and hydraulic engineering services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fluid power systems and be passionate about delivering high standards of service and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned maintenance, shutdowns, and onsite repairs
  • Conduct hose surveys and ensure accurate reporting for asset management
  • Service power packs, including fault finding, repair, and refurbishment
  • Perform pre-charging and re-bagging of accumulators
  • Install, service, and maintain hydraulic ring main systems
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers onsite
  • Upsell hydraulic, pneumatic, industrial, seal & gasket products and services
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate job records, RAMS, service reports, and asset management data
  • Build on relationships with current and new customers

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in hydraulic service engineering, maintenance, or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of fluid power systems, hydraulic circuits, and components
  • Ability to service, install, and maintain power packs and accumulators
  • Skilled in carrying out hose surveys, shutdowns, and asset management reporting
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime and respond to customer requirements when needed

Job Type

  • Location: Field-based role covering the North West region, basing out of Liverpool, Bolton or Warrington
  • Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week, with overtime available as required

Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm

  • Travel: Regular travel across customer sites within the North West (company vehicle provided)
